How the route planner works
It looks up each address, then asks the routing service for the order that gives the shortest total drive, starting from your start address and finishing back there or at your end address. Times and distances are for driving by car.
When a free planner stops being enough
A one-off list of stops is easy. It gets harder with several drivers, customers who need visiting every week or month, stops added during the day, and customers who want to know when you'll arrive. That's the work Routova does: it builds each driver's route from the customers that are due, re-plans the rest of the day from where the driver is, and emails customers when the driver is on the way.
Questions
- How many stops can I add?
- Up to 10 in the free planner, plus a start and an end. Routova plans routes of up to 60 stops per driver.
- Does it work outside the United States?
- Yes. Addresses can be anywhere. How precisely an address is found varies by country, so check the matched address shown for each stop.
- Does it include live traffic?
- No. Drive times assume normal driving conditions, so allow extra time at rush hour.
- Can it split stops between several drivers?
- Not in the free planner. In Routova, each day's work is split between your drivers by area, and each driver's stops are put in order.
- Is it free?
- Yes, with no sign-up. Each person can plan a limited number of routes a day.
